Course Description
It would seem that if different persons measured a house, they would all arrive at the same number. It can be confusing but there are several different methods for calculating square footage. Recently, Fannie Mae stated that, beginning April 1, 2022, real property appraisers must adhere to the ANSI Z765-2021 measurement standards. This course will identify the differences between each of the methods and how this may affect marketing a property. Consumers and license holders need to understand each party’s position. This will help the consumers, agents and appraisers work together. Having been involved in the real estate field since 1983, Candace Cooke’s experience includes real estate research and valuation of residential and commercial properties with an emphasis in residential appraisal, the management of both residential and commercial real estate, real estate development and construction and real property tax protest arbitration. Ms. Cooke has also actively listed and sold real estate in Central Texas. Ms. Cooke previously worked for several years as a contractor with the State of Texas in the assessment of appraisal districts with regards to school district funding. Ms. Cooke is both a certified general appraiser as well as a real estate broker in the State of Texas. Ms. Cooke is now dedicating a large portion of her time to the education of both real estate agents and appraisers.[/av_textblock]
