Course Description
This Live-Zoom course meets the mandatory core requirements for Texas Real Estate Professionals. Instructor Ginger Unger will cover the recent statutory and TREC Rule changes for the 2024-2025 education cycle. Ginger Unger, CCIM will be teaching this as a commercial RE-focused offering of the TX Legal Update, Part 1 course.
Purpose
The purpose of Legal Update I and II is to support Texas license holder competence through the review of recent legislative and TREC rule changes, including changes to TREC promulgated contract forms. The courses include topics relevant to the current practice of real estate in Texas.
Who must take this course?
Section §535.92 of the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC, the Commission) Rules requires all license holders to complete Legal Update I and II before renewing their license.
*REFUND POLICY (24hr Cancellation Policy): Refund requests must be made at least 24 hours or more prior to the start of class. Cancellation must be in writing.
If you register within 24 hours of Class Start, you will only be eligible for a transfer/credit. No refunds will be given within 24 hours of class start unless proper notice is provided.
*CE ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS: The class is offered via Zoom Meeting. Computer audio/video, reliable internet connection, and 100% attendance are required for CE credit. We must be able to see and hear your camera, and you are not allowed to be driving or riding in a car during class. These are state requirements for CE.
Approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission for 4 hours of Mandatory Continuing Education.

Candace “Candy” Cooke has been a real estate professional since 1983. She’s a Texas-licensed real estate broker who lists and sells properties in Central Texas and a certified general appraiser with experience valuing residential and commercial properties. Candy has managed and developed residential and commercial real estate and arbitrated tax protest cases. She contracted for several years with the State of Texas in assessing appraisal districts to determine school district funding.
Candy was in the first class of NAR’s Masters of Real Estate (MRE) program and is a strong believer in professional education. She’s now a prolific and enthusiastic educator who shares her knowledge and passion with both agents and appraisers in many forums, including at conferences, live-virtual classrooms, and her wildly popular Cooke’d Real Estate Facebook community group.
